About Me
After attending the international Analog Photography User’s Group (APUG) conference in Toronto in May of 2006 and experiencing first hand an exhibit by world renowned masters of traditional (film based) photography, I knew this was something I wanted to pursue. The impact this conference/exhibit had on me was worth more to me than all the time I spent in college studying music. It was at this conference that I was exposed to alternative photographic techniques such as multiple-toning, bromoils, lith prints, carbon transfers, platinum printing, daguerreotypes and much more.
The emotional side of my work comes from being exposed to the arts at a very early age; i.e., classical ballet, symphonies, art museums and theater. All of these have had a profound influence on the way I see the world. The waves on the lake became music, calla lilies became a performance, trees became sacred spirits of the forest. There is a communication I can't explain. It is my desire to be able to create images that convey these feelings.
The technical side of my work comes from my father. Without him, I would not be able to pursue my passion. It was he who introduced me to photography in high school and later large format photography. Most of my equipment comes from him, including his darkroom and his 4x5 press camera.
With an ever increasing passion for film and darkroom techniques, I have found myself taking my photography to a different level. My latest work has evolved and continues to evolve into a body of work that portrays a different way of seeing the world we live in.
Without a traditional education in photography I continue to study on my own and learn by experimentation. The thrill of communicating to others what I see and feel is what drives my passion. If I can put on paper what I experience, then I have succeeded.

Photography is my passion. I use photography as a means for sharing my world and the things that effect me the most.
At times being literal, other times surreal.
